Vote for Kino

Good Smile Company is celebrating their 10th anniversary soon and to do so they are having a poll of fans most wanted released figures.

this beautiful figure which is now impossible to find for a normal price could have a reissue.

You can vote for her HERE. It looks like you can vote once a day on the same IP.

In case you don't have a translator on your browser she is on the right hand side the 38th one down.

And yes voting does count, while the figure isn't in first place per say she is one of the top figures in the PVC Scale section being voted for right now. I am not really sure how many figures GSC will reissue but it doesn't hurt to try.

Apr. 13th, 2012

So I'm not sure how many people still use this community anymore (a lot of people I know haven't been using LJ as much lately), but I figured I might as well post here, and make a request while I'm at it.

Recently, I scored myself two Kino's Journey art books on eBay for fairly cheap. The first is "The Beautiful World," and it's definitely my favorite of the two for all the gorgeous and varied artwork in it. The only thing I'm mildly disappointed in is that there isn't as much Allison artwork as I expected; I don't really like the anime, but I have to admit that the light novels look just as pretty as Kino does. The second book is "Tabibito no Hanashi," which is primarily a picture book but the second half contains artwork not found in "The Beautiful World" (I recognize the anime DVD covers, so I'm guessing that most of it was promotional material for the anime and video games). I'm pretty happy to finally get a hold of these due to how much I admire Kuroboshi's work for Kino's Journey. I've been sort of keeping an eye out for the other two picture books, but because they're far more expensive and, to my knowledge, don't contain as much (if any) additional artwork like "Tabibito no Hanashi" did (aside from the story-specific artwork, obviously), they're not as high priority for me.

The request I wanted to make actually has to do with the second book mentioned above. I noticed that nearly a year ago, someone was kind enough to post an English translation of the story contained in it. However, Megaupload was taken down and I can't seem to find this anywhere else on the Internet (makes sense, since the original person requested it to not be uploaded elsewhere). So I was wondering if anyone happened to have this translation on their hands? I bought the book primarily for collector's purposes, but it'd be great to read what the story is about, too. I'd be surprised if anyone still had this, and it would be really appreciated if I could have it!

Kino no Tabi vol.8 translations

Hey everyone! I've translated the [On the Beach] stories from Kino no Tabi volume 8. It's a Shizu-centered story that introduces Ti, a new character.

It's up at my blog (scroll down for the listings). I also have translations of Gakuen Kino up to volume 2, so please check it out!

Kino novel 15 due out this month

Did a quick check of Dengeki's site today and confirmed that Kino no Tabi 15 will be out this month. Amazon Japan pegged the release date as 10/8, so it's already out! Time for me to make a run to Jtown...

Gakuen Kino 5

It's out! And is all about baseball. Which Chako-sensei helpfully explains, is "baseball" in English, and "baseball" in German.
She is one strange teacher.
Also, the two middle-school characters introduced in Vol 4 (Elilas and Sarah) are now part of the main crew. Chako-sensei's recruiting tactics have finally paid off.
ISBN is 978-04-870690-2.

Gakuen Kino the comic version book 1 is also out. I think I forgot to post about it when I got it, it's been out for a few months. It's a bit short, and only covers up to the introduction of Rikutarou (we don't get to see Wan-Wan Deka yet) but I love how some of the gags are pulled off visually, especially the transformation scene, after which Kino spazzes out because she hasn't really transformed ("Not so!" says Hermes. "The buttons on your pouch are now kittens! And your skirt rose by 2 millimeters!")

Gakuen Kino Translation

Hi everyone! First time poster here, though I've been lurking around for a bit.

I bring you english translations of the first half of the first chapter of Gakuen Kino, covering approximately pages 13 to 50.

Please bear in mind that I'm translating from the Korean version, and there will be inconsistencies and some missing/badly mangled puns scattered throughout.

Right here!

EDIT: I'm updating every week with translations. I've just uploaded the last part of chapter two.

キノの旅 [The Travelers Story] -You-

This took a long time to get up, but life likes to get in the way of things.

As my final project for Japanese class in the Fall Semester, I translated one of the Kino no Tabi books. It has nothing to do with the main story, as it is just a account of their visit to a particular place, so it should not be a spoiler for anyone. The last 20 pages are just pictures of the characters from the Kino no Tabi storyline and Gakuen Kino as well (similar to what you'd find in the Art Books).

The only thing I need to warn you guys about is to read Right to Left (the Japanese style). I didn't really think about it when I was editing it on Photoshop, but if you just follow the page numbers on the bottom you will be fine.

I just re-read this, and I realize the English is awkward at times (and there are a couple spelling mistakes, my bad) but I hope you all like this story. My excuse is that I have been in Japan for 9 months and it is super hard for me to edit my own translations. If anyone wants the plain Japanese version, just shoot me a message!

Once again, I am sorry for the delay- and please do not upload this onto other sites. I made this for class and it is by no means meant for profit.
First off, Hello everyone! Like most of us, I have been a long time lurker of this community, but I have some exciting news to bring to all you lovely people! I have been translating one of the books of this series. It is not one of the regular paper back novels, but it is a hardcover and only has one story in it, and tons of pretty pictures! (。=‿‿=。)♥

I am 4 pages away from finishing this book, and when the semester is over I want to share it with all the lovely members of this community (this is a final project so I don't want to post it until the semester is over, lest my teacher things I stole it from this community). (≧∇≦)

So, 1) How should I post up the book and translation? (I was planning on photoshoping my translation on the pages, but is this no good?) I also don't want this to get leaked around too much on the internet, because although 99% of the KNT following wouldn't take this and sell it for money, I don't want to even be an issue.(`ヘ´)

and 2) This is more of a translation question, but the book uses the term "モトラド" which is written out in roman letters as "Motorado", which sounds like Motoroid. However this word doesn't really exist in the English language so, what is the term that is most commonly used for Hermes? Just Motorcycle? (I tried to find all the translations online, but the internet at my college kept on disconnecting whenever I went to those sites, and I am abroad in Japan so I could not even look at my copy of the novel.) (´・ω・`)

Anyways, help with either of these questions would be super wonderful. And I apologize for any bad English, since I have been in Japan my English has become more and more horrendous.

Thank you and I look forward to releasing the translation of the book "
旅人の話  -You-"  ("The Traveler's Story  -You-") in the near future. ~(✿◡‿◡)
